I mostly used this site: http://www.ibiblio.org/wm/paint/auth/manet/ to study the Manet and his works. i learned that his work before he started doing impressionism was influential to other artists (Monet, Deglas, Renoir, Etc). he then switched to impressionism in around 1873.
